TOUCH WEAVING.jpg

research

foreword

I am researching in fields of somatic practice, the evolution of the movement, architectural embodiment, science of perception, and I have been questioning how to deliver those discoveries through my artistic work.

I designed different workshops focusing on movement-body and body-space awareness, weaving the connections between our thought-imaginations-bodies-communication and relationships.

As everything around us is in a state of flux, my main inspiration is THE MOVEMENT or the absence of movement occurring from interactions. In reality, there is no absence of movement but in order for us to understand this, we need to embody scientific models of the representation of the world.

Humans perceive and understand their environments, and the spaces they inhabit, fundamentally through the sense of touch, and I focus my research on how touch can provoke movement in time and space: movement in our bodies as well as outside of them

and how can we blur the boundaries between the inner and outer spaces.

Any haptic activity instantly reveals connections. When we practice touch, we practice ways of connecting and relating, therefore we practice coexisting. We create systems that we can affect with our touch, with our touching presence in a profound and political way.

TOUCHing is a political act in ways that it reveals intention towards the OTHER, any other: a person, an animal, a plant, a rock. In times of political corruption and violation of human rights, I find "reflecting on how we touch" and even "re-learning touching" to be necessary in order to imagine the shape of contemporary democratic, social, political, interpersonal, and intrapersonal structures.

I am currently looking for collaborations and

financial SUPPORT for this project.
